Bike Rally - Owls Head, Maine. Attracting pre 1997 Harley-Davidson, Triumph, Honda, BMW, Indian and Ducati motorcycles as well as antique bikes from around the world, fellow enthusiasts gathered at the Owls Head Transportation Museum to look and appreciate the mechanical beauty and craft of these perfectly maintained bikes. Having spent over 20 years in Maine vacationing I felt welcomed and comfortable. The Bikers were more than interested in educating me as to what was unique about their bike design and history. The Maine Indian Bike Club president gave me a tour of his bike and pointed me in the right direction to other unique bikes. Most of all the people interested me. Many were classic "bikers," others less so. From a photographic perspective, each had a unique look and attracted me to try to capture who they were - their face, leather clothes, hats, tattoos and how they blended in with the bike they owned and loved. The bikers and their motorcycles were polished and proud to be present.
